London Heathrow Airport fast track guide

A London Heathrow Airport (LHR) fast track pass costs $35 per person and typically saves 40–90 minutes compared with the standard line. It covers T2, T3, T4, T5, and the busiest period to plan around is mornings 05:00–09:00 & weekends. Book online in a minute, choose arrival, departure or transit, and your digital QR pass arrives by email with instant confirmation. Show it on your phone at the priority lane; there is no membership or app to install, and everyone named on the booking goes through together.

Heathrow terminals covered

Heathrow runs four passenger terminals: Terminal 2 (the Queen's Terminal, used mainly by Star Alliance carriers), Terminal 3 (long-haul carriers including oneworld and many Gulf and Asian airlines), Terminal 4 (SkyTeam and a mix of Middle Eastern and Asian airlines) and Terminal 5 (British Airways and Iberia). Your pass is valid in the terminal your airline uses, so check your booking or the departures board before you travel and enter the matching terminal when you book.

Terminals 2 and 3 share a central area, while Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 are separate buildings linked by free rail transfers. Allow time to move between them if you are connecting.

Departure security vs arrival passport control

On departure, the pass gives you access to the priority security lane, so you reach the airside shops and gates sooner. Screening still happens: liquids, laptops and bags go through the same scanners as every other passenger, you simply join a much shorter line.

On arrival, the pass is used at UK Border passport control. Eligible travellers may already be able to use eGates; the priority lane is most useful when eGate queues back up or when you are travelling with children or a passport that cannot use the gates.

Meeting point: Your exact meeting point and the name of your assistant are shown on the QR pass we email after booking. At Heathrow this is normally close to the entrance of the security or immigration hall for your terminal.

When Heathrow is busiest

The longest Heathrow security lines usually build between 05:00 and 09:00, when the first long-haul and European banks depart together, and again on Friday and Sunday. School holidays and bank holiday weekends push waits higher still. If your flight leaves in that morning window, or you land with several wide-bodies at once, fast track saves the most time.

Planning your trip

Most travellers reach Heathrow by the Elizabeth line, the Heathrow Express from Paddington or the Piccadilly line. Trains stop at the Terminal 2 & 3 station, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5, so get off at the right one before you head for the security hall. If you are driving, the drop-off zones in front of each terminal charge a small fee, and short-stay car parks are a few minutes' walk away.

Heathrow airlines usually close bag drop 60 minutes before long-haul departures and 40 minutes before short-haul flights. Even with fast track, aim to be at the checkpoint well before your gate opens, because walks to the B and C gates in Terminal 5 or the far piers of Terminal 3 can take 15 minutes or more. Children travelling on the same booking use the priority lane with you, and each traveller needs to be included on the pass so the lane staff can match names to boarding passes. Keep liquids in a clear bag and laptops easy to reach to make the screening itself quick.

Heathrow fast track — questions

Does Heathrow fast track work in Terminal 5?
Yes. The pass covers T2, T3, T4 and T5. Choose the terminal your airline departs from or arrives into when booking.
Do I still go through security screening?
Yes. Fast track gives you a shorter lane, not an exemption. You are screened exactly like every other passenger, just with less waiting.
How soon do I get my Heathrow pass?
Your QR pass arrives by email within minutes of payment. Show it on your phone at the priority lane entrance.
